The Winery

Galia Soriana was born in 2023 with the aim of recovering vineyards from areas bordering the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin. Even if they doesn't share the same territory, they embrace the same values. In the far western part of Soria, ancient vines can be found—many of them ungrafted, some impossible to date—scattered across small or even minuscule plots that grow amidst sands, limestone, and clays. This land is defined by its imposing altitude and extreme temperature fluctuations.

Depopulation threatens the continuity of the vineyards that have that have withstood the test of time, preserved thanks to the tradition of homemade wine production in the villages of Soria.

These vineyards have survived to this day thanks to the winemaking tradition of the villages of Soria, though depopulation and the lack of generational renewal now threaten their survival. At Galia, we have made it our mission to rescue and restore them, for they are treasures brimming with history and diversity, with an incomparable character. Fresh winds to renew the heritage of a land and people forever bound to wine.

This adventure also required the boldness of a passionate lover of wine and the land, like David Calvo Figuero, whose experience and knowledge shine through as he breathes new life into vineyards on the brink of abandonment, restoring them to the value they have always deserved, while honoring their unique essence.

Every great adventure calls for a daring captain, like David Calvo, a passionate lover of winelover and devoted to the land, who delights in rescuing vineyards and restoring them to their true worth.
