Las Aldeas de Galia is a wine that captures the essence of the winemaking tradition of the villages of Soria. Villages that, for different reasons, were left outside the Ribera del Duero DO. It preserves all the unique character of the Sorian wines made from old vines, carrying the soul and history of this remarkable land in every drop.
It´s a single-vineyard wine from the village of Piquera de San Esteban (Soria). The vineyard, dating back to 1930, lies on a hill at 970 meters above sea level, facing north. It spans 1.12 hectares and is planted with ungrafted Tempranillo and Albillo. The shallow soil, mainly sand and gravel, rests upon a base of limestone sandstone. This plot embodies the highest expression of this village.
